| PRISM / CARES Interface |
|
The PRISM/CARES Interface seamlessly integrates an outpatient pharmacy information system (PRISM) with an indigent reimbursement software program (M&D CARES). This robust package is unique to the industry in form and function. No other indigent reimbursement software package offers the powerful benefits available through assimilation of this nature.
The PRISM/CARES platform offers real-time exchange of critical information that optimizes and streamlines medications recovery for indigent patients. This package facilitates collection of patient information as well as streamlines claims processing, inventory tracking and process monitoring. Moreover, this platform greatly enhances inventory management of indigent recovery stock, purchase stock, and samples.
The Interface also allows comprehensive tracking of shipments of prescriptions among various facilities. All Prism prescriptions are transferred to the M&D CARES website. The creation and receiving of medication shipments is easily controlled and facilitated with the help of bar-code scanners. Moreover, the status of any applicable shipments can be reviewed on the web at any time. This enables the user to stay fully aware of any outstanding or received shipments of medications. There is also a “Scan out to Patient” feature on the website that keeps track of the date and time the patient picked up the prescriptions.
Most importantly, the pharmacist is empowered at time of order entry with vital information relative to indigent reimbursement processes and opportunities. Pop-up screens notify the pharmacist of manufacturer indigent reimbursement programs available for the specified drug. If a program does not exist for the original drug, the software will prompt opportunities for generically and therapeutically equivalent drugs – thus maximizing access to reimbursement programs prior to drug dispensing.
The software will also alert the pharmacist as to which inventory to utilize in filling the prescription; replacement stock, samples, or purchased stock.
